Live Oak Farms is looking for a highly motivated and results-driven Controller to lead and manage the company’s financial operations. The Controller will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and continuous process improvement.

Duties

  • Responsible for complete monthly financial preparations for multiple companies.
  • Responsible for staff and resources associated with general ledger preparation, financial reporting, and year-end auditing preparation.
  • Oversee the company’s accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and General Ledger.
  • Reviews accounts payable invoices for multiple companies for proper postings in the G/L – account, cost center, phase, crop year and period.
  • Ensure that monthly and quarterly bank compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Actively participates in the documentation/development of procedures and internal controls.
  • Provide support in educating or cross training of staff to improve and/or implement procedures.
  • Analyze financial statements for completeness and make timely recommendations for P&L improvement.
  • Comply with local, state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Develop and enforce internal controls to ensure data integrity and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Coordinate external audits and act as the main point of contact for auditors.
  • You may be assigned to other duties as needed by the company.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Agriculture industry experience preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Famous ERP Software preferred not required.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of Outlook and Teams

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Compensation & Benefits

  • $100,000 - $125,000 (DOE)
