Caterpillar's Resource Industries Operations & Products Division (RIOP) has an open Accountant position for the Electric Rope Shovel (ERS) product group. Electric Rope Shovel product group provide original equipment and parts to mining customers globally.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing timely and accurate financial record keeping and reporting for the Electric Rope Shovel product group as directed by management.
What You Will Do:
- Manage the monthly, quarterly & annual financial forecasting, budgeting and analysis for the ERS product group. Creating reports on financial performance for internal, monthly sales analysis and profitability analysis through the use of profit walks.
- Support monthly legal entity and accountable financial closing tasks while maintaining financial records in accordance with GAAP and organizational standards including supporting a strong compliance culture.
- Lead financial support for NPI/Capital/OPACC improvement agenda items through the use of benefit analysis such as Net Present Value and breakeven.
- Be a trusted business partner to ERS business leaders.
- Create and utilize automated tools to drive efficiency to support scale of the business functions and accurate financial results.
What You Have:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
- Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
- Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
- Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
- Accounting: Knowledge of accounting methods, processes, and tools; ability to maintain and prepare financial statements and reports using accounting methods and processes.
- Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
- Financial Reporting: Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools of financial reporting; ability to create and maintain accurate and thorough financial reports.
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
- Power BI experience
- Strong work ethics and integrity.
- Work well in team environment with business partners.
- Strong self-direction and work planning skills.
Additional Info:
- This position can be located in Peoria IL, South Milwaukee WI, or Tucson AZ.
- Full Time in office 5 days a week.

Summary Pay Range:
$95,640.00 - $143,520.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
