In this role, you'll be a key player in managing our accounting processes, preparing financial statements, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. You must initially be able to work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm at our office in Westfield, Indiana. There may be an opportunity for hybrid after completion of training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing clients and following up on overdue payments
- Work closely with internal managers to ensure invoices are processed accurately and in a timely manner
- Process and manage accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate vendor payments
- Close books monthly and make corresponding journal entries
- Assist HR with payroll reconciliations for benefits and taxes
- Reconcile financial accounts and credit cards in a timely manner
- Prepare and review internal financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and budget-to-actual reports
- Analyze financial information to provide insights to management
- Prepare other financial reports and presentations for leadership as needed
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, laws, and regulations
- Assist in annual budget preparation and financial forecasting
- Suggest new methods or improvements for financial reporting processes
- Support the annual financial review with external accounting firm
- Collaborate with various departments to gather and interpret financial data
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3+ years of accounting experience with a preference for experience in professional services industries
- Experience in managing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and reconciliations
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in QuickBooks software and Microsoft Office
- Expertise in Excel is a must
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
