Job Description
SHIFT
No Shift ($0) (United States of America) A BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Associate Accountant will be part of our team that is responsible for the general accounting of our 8 US operating sites and corporate entities. This person will manage and actively participate in the accounting cycle to ensure that the accounting processes are timely, accurate, efficient and consistent. The Associate Accountant should have basic general accounting and analytical skills, be able to multi-task and perform the job function under minimal supervision as well as possess excellent communication skills. This position requires a high level of attention to details with a focus on accuracy. The Associate Accountant reports to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting and is part of the Global Finance team at our corporate headquarters in Mason, MI. We are looking for a very proactive resource who will ask questions, research unusual activity independently as appropriate, as well as communicate with the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Assist in closing the books each month, which includes reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and review of certain income and expense accounts (including recording journal entries).
- Maintain various schedules such as capital projects, inventory, prepaid expenses, and accruals to reconcile to the general ledger for US Sites and Corporate Entity.
- Calculate inventory cycle count variances and maintain schedule of variances.
- Process daily AR invoicing to customers.
- Process customer credits for returns and invoicing discrepancies.
- Audit month-end and year-end shipments.
- RGNI investigation and resolution.
- Monitors the capital project schedule, including tracking costs associated with each capital project and closing of the capital project when completed.
- Perform year-end close procedures and analysis.
- Assist with year-end audit by providing required information.
- Provides ad hoc financial and cost analysis as required.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor (Required)
EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ Year of experience in accounting (Required)
- Experience using ERP software (Preferred)
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) - American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) (Preferred)

PAY RATE
For positions located in California, pay for this job type falls within the following range and varies based on scope and complexity of job responsibilities.
