Job Description:
The International Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing the companys global tax compliance, planning, and reporting obligations. This role will ensure adherence to international tax laws, manage tax risks, and support cross-border transactions. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in international tax, experience in a public company setting, and the ability to collaborate across finance, legal, and business teams.
Core Responsibilities and Duties:
Tax Compliance & Reporting:
Oversee the preparation and review of U.S. international tax compliance, including Forms 5471, 8858, 8865, and related disclosures.
Ensure compliance with global tax laws, including OECD guidelines, local tax regulations, and transfer pricing documentation.
Support tax provision calculations for U.S. GAAP and IFRS reporting, including GILTI, FDII, BEAT, and foreign tax credits.
Assist with tax footnote disclosures in SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q) and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls.
International Tax Planning & Strategy:
Support tax-efficient structuring of cross-border transactions, M&A, and business expansions.
Analyze tax implications of intercompany transactions, repatriation strategies, and supply chain changes.
Monitor and implement tax law changes affecting the companys global operations.
Collaborate with finance and legal teams to optimize the companys global tax position.
Transfer Pricing:
Ensure compliance with transfer pricing policies and documentation requirements.
Work with external advisors to prepare country-by-country reporting and local transfer pricing filings.
Support transfer pricing audits and dispute resolution with tax authorities.
Audit & Risk Management:
Manage responses to tax audits, inquiries, and disputes from foreign tax authorities.
Identify and mitigate global tax risks by implementing best practices in tax governance.
Maintain tax policies and procedures to ensure internal compliance and risk management.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, MST, or JD/LLM preferred.
5-10 years of international tax experience in a public company or Big 4 accounting firm.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of U.S. international tax provisions (GILTI, FDII, BEAT), transfer pricing, and foreign tax credit regulations. Knowledge of global non-U.S tax filing requirements, such as VAT and withholding tax.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex tax issues and provide strategic recommendations.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
Experience with tax provision software (OneSource) and ERP systems (netSuite & Oracle) is a plus.
